Overview:
The Dermatology Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. As a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Nurse Practitioner who is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and making a positive impact on the community. Previous dermatology experience is preferred, but not required.
Duties:
- Conduct physical examinations and obtain patient medical histories for patients with skin conditions.- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory tests and skin pathology reports.- Diagnose and treat all diseases of the skin, nails, hair and mucous membranes. - Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans for patients with various cutaneous conditions.- Develop and become very familiar with actinic keratosis, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.- Perform minor procedures such as cryosurgery, punch and shave biopsies, and simple excisions.- Provide education and counseling to patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of dermatology conditions.- Collaborate with other dermatology healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Arkansas- Master's degree in Nursing or related field- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Dermatology(preferred but not required)- Experience working with all ages is preferred- Proficiency in performing physical examinations, and other clinical procedures- Some knowledge of medical and surgical dermatology is preferred, but not required.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards
