Opportunity Overview

Corewell Health Medical Group Cardiovascular Services Department has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a full-time Interventional Cardiologist with Coronary & Structural skills to join their team of 12 interventional physicians and 49 cardiologists. This opportunity involves a collaborative team-based approach providing personalized, high quality cardiovascular care, while also focusing on provider work-life balance. • Large quaternary care facility
• Premier well-established cardiology group with Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart service lines.
• High volume PCI program with excellence in STEMI care (one of the highest STEMI volumes in Michigan), robust volumes in mechanical circulatory support and high-risk interventions, chronic total occlusion program (over 500 cases done with >85% success rate), coronary microvascular testing, peripheral interventions, and renal denervation.
• Nationally recognized Structural Heart program with expertise in TAVR, TMVR, TEER (mitraclip), LAAO, PFO, ASD, and VSD.  Structural volumes are some of the highest in the State of Michigan.
• Interventional and Structural service lines work collaboratively with Cardiothoracic Surgery, Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant, Electrophysiology, Non-invasive Cardiology, Advanced Cardiac Imaging (including CT, MRI, and PET), Cardio-Oncology, and Preventative Cardiology.
• 39-bed Cardio-Thoracic ICU with multidisciplinary care involving AHF, cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, and pulmonary intensivists.
• 22-bed dedicated Heart Failure ICU.

• Established Heart Team since 2015 with over 2,600 patients reviewed by multidisciplinary group-to date including cardiologists and CT surgeons.

• 24/7 inpatient advanced practice provider (APP) support with 6 dedicated interventional APPs
• Diverse practice which includes inpatient, outpatient, consults and procedures.
• Hospital is adjacent to Michigan State University (MSU) College of Human Medicine.
• Joint academic prefix appointment at MSU College of Human Medicine.
• Institution has established cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship programs.
• Robust research portfolio including clinical trials, translational research and collaboration with MSU.

Requirements:

• Medical degree (MD or DO)
• Board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease from an accredited institution
• Board-certified / board eligible in Interventional cardiology from an accredited institution
• Competent in performance of PCI and Structural Heart interventions
• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Michigan

• Passion for the clinical care of patients with complex cardiovascular disease including those who might benefit from advanced cardiac therapies and interventional and structural heart procedures
• Desire to work in an environment focused on excellence in clinical care but also with opportunities for education, research, and professional development
• Values and has the ability and experience to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team-based approach to patient care
