Physician Assistant - Surgical under the direction of physician, performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing. Completes pre-op tasks including physical examinations and recording health history. Being a Physician Assistant - Surgical orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Additionally, Physician Assistant - Surgical requires a master's degree of Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Physician Assistant - Surgical's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Assistant to join our team. As a Surgical Assistant, you will work closely with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to provide support during surgical procedures. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients throughout the surgical process.
Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing the approriate exposure and visualization needed to successfully perform the operation.
-Assisting with hemostatis throughout the operation.
- Assisting the operating room team with gathering supplies needed for the operation.
- Provide assistance with wound closure, including suturing and applying dressings
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes
- Assist with patient positioning within the surgical suite
Skills:
- Proficient in surgical systems and equipment operation
- Strong understanding of infection control procedures
- Proficient in suturing techniques and wound closure
- Solid knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Excellent patient care skills, including compassion and empathy
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
