Elk Rapids Primary Care is seeking a compassionate, professional individual with a great work ethic to join our staff! Excellent patient service skills needed along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Full-time position will be 5 days a week.

As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients, take vitals, and chart medical history
• Organize and schedule appointments when needed
• Update medical records
• Administer immunization and injectable medication
• Assist during medical examinations or Procedures
• Clean and prepare treatment rooms
• Answer phones as needed

Skills

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Social perceptiveness and service oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Education Preference

• Clinical Medical Assistant experience or skills
• RMA or CMA
• BLS

Clinical Duties

• Administer injectable medications and Immunizations
• Answer phones as needed
• Medication Prior authorization for RX plan
• Organize & stock medical supplies in patient/supply room
• Perform ECG, Spirometry, Urinalysis, Urine Drug Screen, Nebulizer treatment
• Perform tests: Prothrombin Time, Rapid Flu, Streptococcus, Hemoglobin A1C
• Prescription refill with local pharmacy
• Sterilize medical instruments
• TB tests
• Update patient immunization record in MCIR System
• Perform wound care or suture removal under supervision of Provider
