Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma assesses, plans, and provides patient care to patients in an emergency and trauma unit under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma requires a master's degree in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Typically reports to a physician. Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Job Summary

    Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of assigned department.
     
    Job Responsibilities
    • Completes routine and detailed work assignments.
    • Provides administrative support for the department which may include answering phone calls, ordering materials, preparing agendas, scheduling meetings, billing services, filing claims, maintaining records/logs/policy manuals, creating and distributing meeting minutes.
    • Composes, types, reproduces and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials, and other written communications as required.
    • Receives and screens patient and visitor telephone calls; handles general inquiries.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive information.
    • Maintains records, reports and statistics to ensure compliance with various governing bodies.
    • Complies with privacy and confidentiality policies when communicating information.
    • May be required to enter demographic, employer or insurance data into various systems timely and accurately.
    • Schedules and coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, appointments, admissions, programs, enrollments, and travel arrangements.
    • Maintains assigned calendar(s).
    • Collaborates with and acts as liaison for the communication of various information across a diverse group of functions.
    • Establishes and/or maintains spreadsheets, databases, web sites, records, programs, contracts, and filing systems. Performs document storage and retrieval.
    • Orders and stocks supplies.
    • May use company vehicle to travel between entities for stock and supply pick up or delivery.
    • May assist with scheduling and delivering of company vehicles for maintenance.
    • Assists with equipment and inventory maintenance.
    • Provides basic accounting support which may include; maintaining petty cash, handling collection and documentation of collections, and deposits, maintaining accurate storage and inventory for specific items, reconciling monthly income and expenses, preparing, analyzing and monitoring all expense budgets and capital project budgets, maintaining financial records, and generating reports.
    • Performs duties of purchasing agent for the dept through requisition entry, equipment inventory, and record keeping in accordance with budget guidelines.
    • Evaluates the office environment, revising procedures, improvement in efficiency of workflow, and initiating cost reduction programs.
    • Oversees, organizes, assigns, and monitors the work within the Department.
    • Assists with education of new staff.
    • Serves as a resource for complex problems.
    • Provides education to patient and family on a variety of subjects.
    • Performs patient placement duties for admissions and transfers in coordination with House Supervisor, UR nurse, and environmental services as assigned.
    Qualifications
    • High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire
    • A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience required
    • Driver - Valid driver's license and 21 years of age required upon hire
