Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma assesses, plans, and provides patient care to patients in an emergency and trauma unit under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma requires a master's degree in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Typically reports to a physician. Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     - Replace positions vacated as long-term physicians step into administrative roles.
    - Join a cohesive group of physicians who are all emergency medicine residency trained and board certified and have an average tenure of 14 years.
    - Work closely with a talented group of advanced practice providers and staff.
    - This is an employed position with a progressive and financially secure health system.

    Practice Details:

    - 32 room department recently renovated and optimized
    - All day and evening shifts; no overnights
    - Full time is 15 10-hour shifts per month
    - Department has 50 hours of physician coverage and 30 hours of APP coverage per day
    - Adult and pediatric hospitalists do their own admissions
    - Not a trauma facility; no heads, no open hearts
