Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma assesses, plans, and provides patient care to patients in an emergency and trauma unit under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma requires a master's degree in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). The Division of General Surgery, Trauma, and Surgical Critical Care at the Yale School of Medicine is seeking an outstanding acute care surgeon to join their faculty and provide services at Lawrence Memorial Hospital located in New London, Connecticut.
We are seeking a board-certified general surgeon interested in surgical critical care. Fellowship training and board certification/eligibility in Surgical Critical Care are preferred. This predominantly clinical position will require excellent clinical and interpersonal skills. The position will include a faculty rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, which is commensurate with level of experience.
