Physician - Anesthesiology examines patient to determine type of anesthetic needed and communicates findings to appropriate medical practitioner. Administers local, intravenous, or spinal anesthetic, records type and amount of anesthesia, and determines condition of patient before, during, and after sedation. Being a Physician - Anesthesiology requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. Additionally, Physician - Anesthesiology may report to a medical director. Physician - Anesthesiology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     * In-house call is 4-5 times per month.
    * About 11,000 anesthesia encounters generated per year.
    * TEE equipment is available to our anesthesiologists for peri-operative and critical care patients.
    * Position requires flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work with high acuity adult and pediatric patients while supervising and teaching emergency medicine and surgery residents, CRNAs, student nurse anesthetist, and medical students.
    * This teaching exposure creates opportunity for our physicians to apply to our university affiliations for academic appointment.
    * The clinical practice includes L&D, neonatal and general pediatric surgery, general surgery, robotic surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, burn, level I trauma, orthopedics, podiatric surgery, and special procedures outside the OR.
