Being a Physical Therapy Supervisor provides guidance to and monitors the performance of physical therapy staff. Ensures physical therapy staff follows regulatory compliance requirements and standard procedures. Additionally, Physical Therapy Supervisor may perform training demonstrations for physical therapists and assistants. May maintain a small caseload of patients. Requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Requires Certified Physical Therapist (CPT). Requires Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT). Typically reports to a manager. The Physical Therapy Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Job Summary
Functions under the general supervision of the Clinic Director, and under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical team. The Physical Therapy Aide is responsible for preparing treatment areas, cleaning treatment areas, aiding in ordering supplies, setting up the exercise equipment, and monitoring and cueing patients throughout their exercise program. The Physical Therapy Aide may also be assigned routine clerical support tasks in support of the patient care experience. All functions are performed in accordance with facility, departmental, regulatory, and payor policies and procedures, and guidelines.
