Physical Therapist - Nursing Home jobs in Sioux City, IA
Physical Therapist - Nursing Home evaluates and treats patients suffering from a physical disability due to injury, disease, or surgery in a nursing home environment. Establishes treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain and help them increase their mobility. Being a Physical Therapist - Nursing Home works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors. Monitors, documents, and reports patients' progress. Additionally, Physical Therapist - Nursing Home may supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers. Requires an advanced degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Typically reports to a manager. Requires a state license to practice physical therapy. Physical Therapist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Job Description
As a home health physical therapist, you'll provide PT services to help patients regain their health and mobility. Working at patients' homes, you'll assess their mobility, strength and function, develop treatment plans, maintain records and provide patient education. You'll play a critical role in helping patients develop strength, reduce pain and improve function.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent experience in a home health setting
- Degree in relevant field
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Current state/compact license
