Physical Therapist - Nursing Home evaluates and treats patients suffering from a physical disability due to injury, disease, or surgery in a nursing home environment. Establishes treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain and help them increase their mobility. Being a Physical Therapist - Nursing Home works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors. Monitors, documents, and reports patients' progress. Additionally, Physical Therapist - Nursing Home may supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers. Requires an advanced degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Typically reports to a manager. Requires a state license to practice physical therapy. Physical Therapist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Job Description:

    The primary role of the Physical Therapist is to provide and direct all aspects of quality patient care, including evaluation and treatment, treatment planning, goal setting, family education and documentation according to organizations guidelines, professional standards and community needs. This position will also serve as a patient and rehabilitation advocate for current prospective patients, to all internal and external customers while participating in quality assurance and customer service activities.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an approved curriculum in Physical Therapy.
    • Is able to practice unencumbered.
    • Is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
    • Working knowledge of Medicare and other payor sources.
    • Full knowledge of resident’s rights.
    • Exudes professionalism in presentation.
    • Able to work on multitasks at the same time.
    • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in the English language.
