    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    Connect with people that you photograph and show them photos that will ignite and strengthen their confidence. At Berks Headshots, we take photos with the intention to highlight our customer’s true essence and personal brand.

    In other words, you take customers from I never liked to see my face in a picture to oh my goodness, I LOVE my headshot!

    Here is

    how you’ll do that :

    • Communicating with Jenn our owner who is the initial point of contact for our customers to understand clients’ needs
    • Reviewing customer questionnaires ahead of the sessions to begin developing ideas on how to serve the client well.
    • Greeting and welcoming the client into the studio
    • Interacting with the clients in a manner that allow you to learn more about their story and so that they feel well taken care of
    • Guiding the client in their wardrobe selection
    • What looks good in front of the camera?
    • Are the outfits in alignment with desired branding?
    • What outfits match the background well

    No worries, you do not need a fashion degree, just an eye for what looks aligned between outfits and customer-intention

    • Photographing client using studio flashes in standard setups according to the studio’s standards, but also with the opportunity to expand into creative lighting setups when it would benefit the client’s goals
    • When customer is in front of the camera, making sure lighting, mood, and vibe of the pictures are in alignment with customer-intentions, and coaching customer on posing, expression and messaging to this same end, in a manner that helps them feel comfortable
    • Guiding the customers in selecting their images immediately after they are taken - helping them think through the uses of the images and determining together which photos will best apply and best convey their messaging
    • Please note that we show raw pictures to our clients without the opportunity to edit them beforehand so you do need to be comfortable with the aspect that they may not be perfect at time of showing
    • Downloading images to computer - after the session all pictures get downloaded to the studio computer and backed up to the cloud

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

    MUST HAVES

    • Must be a great communicator - with a focus on listening to our customer needs
    • Must be genuinely interested in people’s stories
    • Basic understanding of manual camera function including ISO, shutter speed, aperture
    • Basic understanding of operating flash in manual mode
    • Basic understanding of composition skills
    • Must have a willingness to show clients images immediately after you take their pictures (before the editing process!)

    NICE TO HAVE

    • Website Experience
    • Editing Experience
    • Applied knowledge of emotional intelligence skills
    • Experience in going on-location to customer’s sites and taking photos
    • Sense of humor and creativity

    WHAT ELSE YOU MIGHT WHAT TO KNOW :

    HOURS

    In this role, we prefer you have

    availability during our operating hours Mon-Fri between 9am and 3 : 30pm. This is a part-time role with the opportunity to work more hours in the future.

    Initially, we will require you to work 8-10 hrs. per week (ask us about this in the interview).

    Please know this is not for you if you work a full-time job and are looking for additional work in the evenings during the week.

    COMPENSATION

    Based on experience and availability we will compensate between $16 - $22 / hr.
