Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager

  • District Photo Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to fill the role of Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading quality assurance initiatives and is directly accountable for the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. The Quality and CI Manager will play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding of LEAN methodology, and the supporting framework, to deliver business transformation.

    Responsibilities

    Quality Management:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system for all aspects of the production facility.
    • Establish and enforce quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with

    quality requirements.

    • Investigate and address customer complaints or quality issues promptly and effectively.
    • Work with customer service teams to address issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Risk Management:
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify and assess potential risks to quality and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
    • Supplier Quality Management:
    • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure that suppliers meet quality standards.

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Lead and facilitate Lean and process improvement-based workshops to drive ideas & solutions.
    • Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for improvement and waste reduction.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and innovations.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting awareness and involvement at all levels of the organization.
    • Data Analysis, Documentation and Reporting:
    • Utilize data and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of quality and continuous improvement initiatives. Generate regular reports to communicate key performance indicators and progress toward improvement goals.
    • Track, monitor and communicate facility defect trends.
    • Analyze trends and provide recommendations for corrective actions or further enhancements.
    • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
    • Training and Development:
    • Develop and oversee training programs to ensure that employees understand and adhere to quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
    • Collaborate with department managers to identify and address specific training needs.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    · Work closely with production teams, engineering, and other relevant departments to align quality and continuous improvement objectives.

    · Partner with Quality and CI peers in other facilities to share best practices and ensure consistency.

    · Facilitate cross-functional teams to address specific improvement projects.

    · Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to drive change and improvement.

    · Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

    Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
    • Proven experience in quality management and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
    • Effective communication and leadership skills.
    • Knowledge of quality management systems, Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders including senior managers, subject matter experts and operators.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced degree or certifications in quality management or continuous improvement is a plus.
    • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
    • Knowledge of printing technologies, Print on Demand industry or related manufacturing sectors.

    Working Conditions

    • Significant walking, bending, standing.
    • Physical activities including but not limited to reaching, pulling, pushing, gripping, grabbing, and must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    Level of Supervision Received

    • Under little supervision, proceeds alone on regular duties and implementing change as needed with consultation for change as needed.

    Level of Supervision Exercised

    • Directs and oversees the Quality and Continuous Improvement department locally.
    • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
    • Conducts training as needed.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
