Pharmacy Technician Supervisor oversees the work of a team of Pharmacy Technicians that assist Pharmacists with the dispensing of medical prescriptions. Monitors daily activities and manages work schedules to ensure that quality, production and customer service standards are maintained. Being a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor may hire, train, and evaluate new employees. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Pharmacy Technician will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist as part of a team to ensure patients receive their medications in a timely manner while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: accurately entering prescriptions, preparing orders for pick up and delivery, inventory maintenance, resolving insurance issues, assisting with prior authorization, helping walk-in customers, helping maintain a clean working environment, and performing cash register transactions utilizing excellent customer service skills at all times.
Physical job requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally moves boxes weighing up to 25 lbs. across the office for various needs.
