Lakeview Pharmacy currently has an opening for a full-time pharmacy technician. We are a locally owned independent pharmacy that has been in business for over 40 years. We service both retail and long term care customers. We are an innovative pharmacy that is constantly looking to move the profession of pharmacy forward. Providing the best patient care possible is our top priority. Lakeview Pharmacy has very desirable hours that will allow you to achieve a work-life balance. We are open 9am-6pm M-F 9am-3pm on Saturdays and closed Sundays and major holidays.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Take care of customers whether in person or on the phone and assist the Pharmacists in preparing medication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Medication Preparation for Review whether it's in our retail or long term care areas (bubble packs)
• Answer Phones
• Respond to patient requests or triage as necessary
• Contact doctor’s offices or hospitals to clarify prescription information
• New Patient Enrollment
• Enter and maintain prescription data using our computer system
• Provide Excellent Customer Service
• Friendly and courteous to patients on the phone and in person
• Disburse completed and confirmed prescriptions to patients
• Cash Handling
• Maintain an Orderly Work Environment
• Product Promotion-
• Complete Special Projects as Assigned by Management

POSITION SPECIFIC STANDARDS

• Complete all medication preparation by the end of the day
• Accuracy, timing, pace, percentage
• Exceptional math and observation skills
• Possesses physical strength necessary to lift boxes and other heavy items on a regular basis.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

• Spanish speaking
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of pharmacy functions
• Customer service background
• Ability to work collaboratively to accomplish goals
• Flexibility, and ability to adapt and work in a rapidly changing environment
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Experience in retail sector is preferred

OTHER CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION

Work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and computer work. Some lifting may be required.
