Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The responsibilities include to help pharmacist with filling and production process. Receive calls from customers and assist them for prescription refills. Restock merchandise and help with ordering as required. Help customers with check out process and POS payments. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and possess basic computer and phone skills.
