Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Ouachita County Medical Center has an opening for a Pharmacy Technician for Part Time(1-2 weekdays per week from 8:00AM-5:00pm/every third weekend from 8:00AM-3:00PM).
Essential Duties and Major responsibilities: Works under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and assists in all pharmacy operation functions including preparation & distribution of all doses of medication, maintenance of drug inventories, and completion of patient records.
This position requires: High school diploma or GED, and Registration as an Arkansas Pharmacy Technician; Must have Pharmacy tech certification.
1 year experience as a hospital pharmacy tech or related experience is preferred.
The applicant must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to perform well individually and within group settings, have the ability to handle situations professionally and accurately, and must be able to provide care with courtesy, friendliness and respect.
