Pharmacy Technician jobs in Delaware

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a hospital setting in Delaware. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside pharmacists and healthcare professionals in providing essential pharmacy services to patients.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Receive and process medication orders from healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
• Assist with medication compounding and sterile product preparation, following established protocols and safety procedures.
• Prepare and label medication orders for inpatient and outpatient use, including unit-dose packaging and IV admixtures.
• Perform medication reconciliation and resolve discrepancies as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy work area, equipment, and storage areas.
• Adhere to all pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is required.
• Previous experience working as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and computer skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
