Pharmacy Service Clerk is responsible for performing daily, routine tasks in the pharmacy such as answering the phone, responding to customer requests, data entry, record maintenance, and other clerical duties. Follows organization and department procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner. Being a Pharmacy Service Clerk assists with stocking and inventory tasks. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Pharmacy Service Clerk typically reports to a supervisor. The Pharmacy Service Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. The Pharmacy Clerk will ensure accurate and efficient compiling of all paperwork for outgoing orders daily for all specialty therapies. They will verify all required documentation is included then submit all outgoing orders prior to predetermined cut off time daily. The clerk will be responsible for the accuracy of their work and ensure that performance goals are met. They will also assist with ensuring that all completed documentation is scanned/entered into correct patients’ profile in a timely fashion for all specialty therapy teams in the most efficient manner. They will also assist in the shipping process by ensuring timely shipping of outbound next day orders as needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize workload. Must be extremely detail oriented. Ensures that all HIPPA, policies/procedures and compliance requirements are met within the required role.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Training- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Work, Excel).
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office policies, processes, and procedures.
Essential Job Duties- Responsible for compiling all paperwork for completed orders and ensuring they are ready to pull, pack, and ship prior to cut off time.
- Scan completed orders into correct system and file orders accurately.
- Assist with shipping as needed.
- Filing orders.
- Detail Oriented.
- Other related duties as assigned and assists with other administrative miscellaneous projects.
