JOB SUMMARY: Pharmacy Clerk to provide excellent customer service to our clients. In this position, you will answer phone calls, greet customers, take prescriptions, confirm insurance information, and handle payments when the order is ready. When not working with customers, you will review inventory and help keep our shelves stocked and organized. Our ideal candidate has at least one year of retail or customer service experience, preferably in a pharmacy, and is familiar with medical terminology.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
2. Cashier or customer service experience, preferably in a medical or pharmacy setting
3. Strong reading comprehension, verbal and written communication skills required
4. Detailed oriented, organized, resourceful, analytical, problem solving skills.
5. Strong team work, listening and exceptional customer service skills
6. Strong computer and data entry skills
7. Accuracy, reliability, accountability, punctuality, ability to handle stressful / difficult situations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other assignments, projects, and duties may be required:
- · Sorting mail by department and category
- · Greet customers as they come to the pharmacy
- · Answer phone calls
- · Calls Patients regarding their orders
- · Call Doctors’ offices for refills
- · Collect payment and insurance information
- · Retrieve and give orders to customers
- · Keep the shelves organized and clean
- · Make regular inventory checks
- · Customer service at front counter and ring up sales and balance cash resister
- · Mail outgoing prescriptions packages
- · Ensuring proper labeling and packaging for outgoing post
- · Arranging for deliveries for delivery drivers
- · Keeping detailed records of all transactions in company systems
- Other duties as assigned by pharmacist/supervisor
