We are currently in search of a Compounding Pharmacy Technician who can efficiently and accurately compound non-sterile medications, deliver exceptional customer service and ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.
As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you'll operate under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, compounding medication at least 50% of the time to help ensure safe, accurate, and smooth compounding operations. Your role will also include collaborating with the team to ensure the safe and tailored delivery of pharmacy services to our patients. You will join the team as an active participant in our patient’s healthcare and well-being.

Core Duties:
- Receive and process prescriptions from patients or healthcare providers.
- Compound prescriptions according to instructions.
- Conduct accurate in-process quality checks and documentation.
- Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages for compounded medications.
- Operate, clean, and sterilize aseptic compounding equipment and areas.
- Maintain inventory levels for compounding ingredients and pharmacy supplies, monitoring expiration dates, and restocking as needed.
- Process medications according to prescription orders, efficiently and safely.
- Provide exceptional customer service with professionalism and empathy.
- Assist in non-prescription sales by guiding customers to products, processing special orders, and cashiering.
- Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining patient records, processing insurance claims, and managing billing.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and safety protocols to ensure compliance with laws and protect patient health.
- Assist in the implementation of a quality improvement program to meet company and accreditation standards.
- Participate in educational programs to stay updated on industry trends and standards.
- Adapt to additional responsibilities as directed by the Pharmacy Manager to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy.
Required License/Certification:
- Active Washington State DOH issuedPharmacy Technician License.
- Certification in Non-Sterile Compounding highly desired.
Required Experience/Knowledge:
- Minimum of one (1) year pharmacy experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a retail setting.
- Minimum of one (1) year hands-on compounding pharmacy technician experience.
- Able to perform basic and intermediate level mathematical calculations.
- Experience processing a high-volume of prescriptions daily.
- Ability to learn and operate pharmacy dispensing software and Point of Sale system.
- Proficient in English to comprehend, communicate, and execute job responsibilities effectively.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Must pass background check and drug test.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in the use of office equipment and automated systems/applications/software/POS.
- Exercise extreme attention to detail.
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment and changes in workflow.
Physical Requirements:
- Must live within a reasonable commute; preference will be given to those living locally.
- Standing for at least 8 hours and repeatedly walk short distances or climb stairs.
- Visual ability to read computer monitors, fine print, handwriting and small objects.
- Frequent, repetitive hand and body movements to process prescriptions.
- Manual dexterity for handling store/office equipment, supplies, and products.
- Constant bending, reaching, handling, and maneuvering of supplies and products.
- Occasionally lift, carry, and move items up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining precision and accuracy.
- Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
- Must comply with company dress code policy.
