    Job Responsibilities:

    As a Purchasing Agent at Interpak, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth procurement of materials essential to producing our custom-made products. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Identifying and evaluating suppliers for specialized materials and components.
    • Negotiating supplier contracts covering pricing, terms, schedules, and quality standards.
    • Generating and managing purchase orders to align with manufacturing specifications and timelines.
    • Supervising the Purchasing Coordinator/Clerk to ensure smooth operations within the department.
    • Addressing material-related issues such as late deliveries, quality discrepancies, and pricing concerns.
    • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance, and resolving issues.
    • Collaborating closely with sales and manufacturing teams to understand customer requirements and ensure alignment in procurement strategies.
    • Analyzing procurement data to derive insights and implement continuous improvements.

    Competencies and Qualifications:

    To excel in this role, you should possess:

    • 3 years’ experience in procurement and supply chain management, with a track record of success.
    • Strong negotiation skills and building and maintaining effective supplier relationships.
    • Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing principles would be advantageous.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP software systems.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from procurement data.
    • Preferred experience in box production utilizing materials such as paper, board, fabrics, and dies.
