Pharmacy Purchasing Agent liaisons between buyers and manufacturer's representatives to ensure that the organization purchases pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment that meet quality standards while minimizing costs. Ensures adequate levels of drugs and supplies are available in the inpatient and outpatient pharmacies and that purchases do not exceed budget. Being a Pharmacy Purchasing Agent requires a high school diploma. Requires certification as a pharmacy technician and licensure from the State Board of Pharmacy. Additionally, Pharmacy Purchasing Agent typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Pharmacy Purchasing Agent occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Position Summary


    The Purchasing Agent directs the activities of trade partners and material suppliers. They are the primary representative of Rausch Coleman Homes for our trade partner relations and source supply information internally to the construction and sales departments.


    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and indirectly to Division Manager.
    • Responsible for accurate data integrity in Integrated Homebuilding Management System (IHMS)
    • Responsible for publishing construction documents on Internet Toolkit (ITK) for field managers and trade partners
    • Responsible for trade partner negotiations.
    • Responsible for coordinating with sales on inventory home status
    • Ensure trade partner compliance with company construction standards.
    • Responsible for job cost assignments
    • Responsible for material product selection and takeoff quantity assignment
    • Responsible for managing the Pre-Start Report and process
    • Responsible for ordering house documents such as plot plans
    • Responsible for marking up blueprints and preparing files for permitting.
    • Responsible for preparing job start packets and releasing Purchase Orders and Work Orders to begin construction.
    • Additional duties as required.

    Requirements

    • Ability to understand mathematical equations.
    • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to read, understand, and explain construction blueprints and floorplans.
    • Working knowledge of the basic materials and methods used by trade partners.
    • Proven ability to conduct a house takeoff and assign material quantities.
    • Excellent organization skills and possesses the ability to multi-task.
    • Self-motivated and the ability to solve problems effectively.
    • Be professional in dress, manners, and conduct.
    • Knowledge of standard computer applications.
    • Ability to follow checklists, procedures, and processes.
    • Ability to evaluate alternative methods of construction in terms of cost efficiency.
    • Experience in fast-paced office environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years' experience of purchasing background with a high preference given for knowledge of production home building.
    • Experience in construction contract negotiations.
    • Solid understanding of job cost details to build a home.
    • Ability to read, interpret, and resolve inconsistencies and problems in construction plans and specifications.
    • Experience in a customer service position.
    • Ability to review construction job costs and make assessments to improve material quantity.
    • Ability to evaluate alternative methods of construction in terms of cost efficiency.

    • Lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally and frequently moving small objects
    • Frequently sitting for long periods of time
    • Walking or standing occasionally
