Pharmacy Purchasing Agent jobs in Connecticut

The qualified candidate will be a highly organized and motivated team player with effective communication skills and is responsible for overseeing all company purchases and procuring goods and services necessary for a growing manufacturing business. He/She will have the ability to identify suppliers, negotiate effectively to assure quality and cost-effective purchases, and develop new suppliers to achieve the highest levels of performance in cost, quality, and delivery.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field with 5 years minimum experience in metal stamping, machining, and tool and die manufacturing environment.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Identify and qualify suppliers per procedure. Maintain a list of Approved Suppliers.
• Negotiate or renegotiate and administer contracts, with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives as needed to purchase goods and services
• Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
• Prepare purchase orders, solicit quotes, and review requisitions for goods and services
• Create, maintain and manage metrics to ensure supplier performance
• Solicit feedback from suppliers with Supplier Quality Surveys per procedure
• Procure and develop new suppliers to achieve the highest standards in cost, quality, and delivery.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies and initiatives to improve overall supplier performance.
• Support Sales Team with inputs from Purchasing for customer quotations
• Proficiency with ERP or MRP platforms
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
