Pharmacy Director jobs in Lynchburg, VA
Pharmacy Director directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for a hospital or healthcare facility's pharmacy services. Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy. Being a Pharmacy Director requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Typically requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Additionally, Pharmacy Director typically reports to a top management. The Pharmacy Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Pharmacy Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Attention to details, with perfection, in receiving, input, filling, labeling, and packing of prescription medication. Cross training is required for the candidate to know the detal and intricacies of our pharmacy workflow; placing orders, receiving orders, accepting orders to perpetual inventory. Experience with Parata Max and the use of Kirby counting machines is a plus. Excellent customer service skills are required; our customers pay us. Experience with cash registers; you will be required to ring up prescriptions. All other duties as assigned by management.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.34 - $17.64 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
