Pharmacy Director directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for a hospital or healthcare facility's pharmacy services. Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy. Being a Pharmacy Director requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Typically requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Additionally, Pharmacy Director typically reports to a top management. The Pharmacy Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Pharmacy Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Cross training is required for the candidate to know the detal and intricacies of our pharmacy workflow; placing orders, receiving orders, accepting orders to perpetual inventory. Experience with Parata Max and the use of Kirby counting machines is a plus. Excellent customer service skills are required; our customers pay us. Experience with cash registers; you will be required to ring up prescriptions. All other duties as assigned by management.
