We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality patient care and ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications. This position is based in a closed door Long term care pharmacy and requires proficiency in various pharmacy-related tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and package medications for dispensing
- Perform medication inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications
- Maintain patient profiles and medication records
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulations
- Assist with IV infusion preparation and administration
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy work area
Requirements:
- Current Pharmacy Technician License in California
- Previous experience in retail or LTC pharmacy setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of medication names, dosages, and uses
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
