Responds to customers questions about medications and advises about drug safety and potential interactions. Being a Pharmacist - Retail manages the transfer of prescriptions, incoming physician calls, and drug utilization review. Ensures that pharmacy's patient and financial records are correctly input and maintained. Additionally, Pharmacist - Retail requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered pharmacist(RPh). Requires pharmacy practice. Pharmacist - Retail's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Pharmacist performs medication management activities to ensure safe, rational, and cost-effective therapy while maintaining compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and standards as promulgated by Federal, State, and accrediting agencies or regulating bodies. The Pharmacist maintains established departmental policies and procedures and complies with department objectives.
