Pharmacist - Retail reviews prescriptions and compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs according to regulatory requirements and guidelines in a retail environment. Responds to customers questions about medications and advises about drug safety and potential interactions. Being a Pharmacist - Retail manages the transfer of prescriptions, incoming physician calls, and drug utilization review. Ensures that pharmacy's patient and financial records are correctly input and maintained. Additionally, Pharmacist - Retail requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered pharmacist(RPh). Requires pharmacy practice. Pharmacist - Retail's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Our facility is in need of a Retail/Home Health Pharmacy Manager – PIC
The Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) of new retail pharmacy and home infusion service. This position will develop tools and processes to support the day-to-day operations, customer support, reimbursement, and growth for the pharmacy. Pharmacist clinical activities include therapy assessment, care planning and medication reconciliation as they pertain to individual patients and the appropriate monitoring for effective care and positive patient outcome.
Qualifications :
· Pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Georgia
· BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree
· 1 year of experience working in hospital or home infusion setting
Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices involved in compounding and dispensing of prescriptions.
- Pharmaceuticals, drugs and narcotics.
- Calculation of doses and the preparation and use of percentage and stock solutions.
- Clinical applications involving parenteral and compounded therapies.
- SNF Reimbursement systems including PDPM, Medicare Part B/D and Medicaid or the ability to develop an understanding of each.
- JCAHO principles and guidelines.
- Inventory Control and related record keeping.
- Compliance with external regulatory agencies and organizations for all areas of responsibility.
