Pharmacist - Retail reviews prescriptions and compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs according to regulatory requirements and guidelines in a retail environment. Responds to customers questions about medications and advises about drug safety and potential interactions. Being a Pharmacist - Retail manages the transfer of prescriptions, incoming physician calls, and drug utilization review. Ensures that pharmacy's patient and financial records are correctly input and maintained. Additionally, Pharmacist - Retail requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered pharmacist(RPh). Requires pharmacy practice. Pharmacist - Retail's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Pharmacist to fill an opening with a well-know and highly rated Closed-Door Specialty Pharmacy in North Little Rock, AR!
Daily Responsibilities for the Pharmacist:- Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Makes recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and facility staff as appropriate
- Maintains patient/resident database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication (including over the counter and home remedies)
- Ensures that appropriate laboratory tests for monitoring certain high-risk conditions are ordered, evaluated, and discussed with appropriate members of the healthcare team
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide clinical and technical support as needed
- Documents all communication with physicians, nurses, other members of the healthcare team and patients/residents and their family members in the medical record
- Shift: Monday – Friday; 8:30am to 5:00pm
Required Qualifications for the Pharmacist:- Must be a licensed Pharmacist in the state of Arkansas
