Pharmacist Manager manages a group of pharmacists who, under the direction of a physician, compound and dispense prescribed drugs in a retail or healthcare facility environment. Oversees daily pharmacy operations. Being a Pharmacist Manager monitors and audits drug inventory, ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines and reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a Pharm.D. Additionally, Pharmacist Manager requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Pharmacist Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Position Summary
Pharmacists are responsible for the safe and accurate dispensing of pharmaceuticals and ensure appropriateness of prescribed therapy for all patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Pharmacists must also communicate effectively with the department, other healthcare professionals and patients.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy
Preferred:
Master of Sciences in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
5 years hospital pharmacy or retail pharmacy experience if has a Bachelors or Masters in Pharmacy. Prior work experience not required for Doctor of Pharmacy.
Preferred:
2 years of recent retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy experience or post-graduate residency training.
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
New Jersey Pharmacist License
Preferred:
Specialty pharmacy certification (e.g. BCPS, CGP)
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Pharmacy skills serving patients of diverse age and disease states; working knowledge of Automated Dispensing Cabinets (e.g. PYXIS® or Omnicell®) or retail pharmacy systems; Competence in required computer programs (clinical system, ADC, parenteral documentation).

MS Office Proficient; Teaching/precepting experience
