Pharmacist Manager manages a group of pharmacists who, under the direction of a physician, compound and dispense prescribed drugs in a retail or healthcare facility environment. Oversees daily pharmacy operations. Being a Pharmacist Manager monitors and audits drug inventory, ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines and reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a Pharm.D. Additionally, Pharmacist Manager requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Pharmacist Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Pharmacist Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     POSITION DESCRIPTION
     
    Title: Pharmacist
    Reports to: Pharmacy Director
     
               
    Personnel Supervised:    Pharmacy Techs, Pharmacy Clerks
     
    POSITION SUMMARY:  This position assumes responsibility for pharmacy function when on duty in accordance with applicable regulatory statutes and accreditation standards. Duties include: interpretation of prescription orders, packaging, labeling, dispensing, administering and distribution of drugs and devices, while providing patient education and counseling as needed.
     
    MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education: Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy
    Certification/Licensure: Florida Pharmacist License   
    Computer literacy
    Understanding of use of pharmacy equipment
    Current valid BLSC certification
     
    RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:  
    1. Be familiar with CFHC’s program philosophies, goals, and objectives. Be cognizant of and comply with all CFHC’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
    2. Understand the requirements of CFHC’s Exposure Control Plan. Assure compliance with this plan by support staff assigned to assist you.
    3. Adheres to CFHC quality policies and participates actively in quality improvement process activities.
    4. Follows safety and OSHA requirements.
    5. Monitor drug therapy in conformance with OBRA Act.
    6. Participate in drug review and drug product selection.
    7. Maintain proper and safe drug storage and maintain accurate inventory and sales records.
    8. Advise physicians as needed on formulary changes.
    9. Treat patients, staff, and visitors with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect
    10. Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines.
    11. Report as needed to Pharmacy Director any pertinent information or situations that impact on patient care or CFHC liability.
    12. Attend and participate in mandatory CFHC meetings (Center Specific quarterly meetings, Corporate meetings, and other meetings as designated by the CCO or CEO).
    13. Make recommendations to the Pharmacy Director regarding the purchase of pharmacy supplies, instruments, and equipment, and repair and/or maintenance of these.
    14. Enhances professional growth and development by attending inservice meetings and continuing education programs.
    15. Maintain neat and professional appearance at all times.
    16. Carry out any other activities deemed appropriate by the Pharmacy director, CCO or CEO.
     
     
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   (Subject to Change)
    1. Requires 80% or more time spent standing/walking.
    2. Independently mobile.
    3. Working under tight deadlines.
    4. Ability to lift weight equivalent to that required when repositioning equipment and lifting supplies.
    5. Ability to adapt and function in varying environments of workload, worksites and work shifts.
