Position Overview
The Staff Pharmacist interprets, fills and dispenses medications, IVs and other pharmaceutical supplies following standard procedures to fill written and verbal orders using pharmaceutical expertise for all ages of patients; assists in maintaining and routinely inspecting an adequate, secure and properly stored stock of medications and IV solutions under prescribed laws; ensures proper storage and security of drugs and IV solutions in the Pharmacy; and when requested by the Director of Pharmacy, makes inspections of all areas in the hospital where drugs are stored to ensure proper storage and security are maintained.
Education
Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Certification
Must be licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.
Experience
Hospital pharmacy experience is desirable but not required. Must have completed licensing requirements of the State Board of Pharmacy in Mississippi.
Physical Demands
Stands, bends, turns, stoops, lifts, climbs and uses many physical motions in performing day to day activities; finger dexterity, eye hand coordination, visual acuity and color discrimination required.
