Oversees daily pharmacy operations. Being a Pharmacist Manager monitors and audits drug inventory, ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines and reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a Pharm.D. Additionally, Pharmacist Manager requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Pharmacist Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Essential Functions:
1. Reporting: Run monthly reports on prescriptions filled, physician prescribing trends, pricing, and accuracy of compounds.
2. Customer Experience: Conduct weekly patient satisfaction calls and document interactions.
3. Accuracy: Send random samples of compounded products to ensure accuracy.
4. Self-Development: Attend seminars, conferences, and state-mandated CE courses; review pharmaceutical guidelines regularly.
5. Industry: Attend pharmaceutical seminars, subscribe to relevant magazines, and stay updated on compounding practices.
6. Personal Growth: Attend leadership webinars and read articles/books on pharmaceutical compounding.
Physical and Special Requirements:
1. Ability to stand for prolonged periods
2. May need to lift up to 40 pounds
3. Limited exposure to potentially hazardous substances
4. Significant on-call duty
