    We’re growing rapidly and we’re seeking motivated, customer oriented, passionate coworkers to join us. We’re currently seeking a PRN Pharmacist for our hospital in Leawood, KS. 

    In this role, on a PRN basis, you will partner with the Pharmacist in Charge to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the pharmacy department. Your key responsibilities will include: 

    Essential Functions

    Perform a variety of tasks in support of daily operations, including but not limited to:

    • Dispensing pharmaceuticals to Nursing Staff and contract staff.
    • Consult with medical and nursing staff on hospital/patients needs.
    • Analyze pharmacy stock to determine optimum staffing/usage reimbursements.
    • Keep track of all pharmaceutical inventories (ordering, stocking, and dispensing).
    • Coordinate with outside pharmaceutical vendors as appropriate.
    • Mix pharmaceuticals as needed.
    • Review patients home medications to ensure proper usage/dosages.
    • Ensure that the Hospital is current and in compliance with all regulatory agencies and meets all JCAHO pharmaceutical requirements.
    • Communicate with the Director of Nursing and Hospital Administrator on a regular basis.
    • Ensure work is performed accurately and in a timely manner by all staff.
    • May assist with training hospital staff on proper pharmaceutical usage and dispensing procedures.
    • Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
    • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.
    • Maintain knowledge of and comply with established policies and procedures.
    • Participates in department meetings as required   
    • Understands HIPAA regulations and maintains the  strictest confidentiality at all times. Has read and understands the company’s HIPAA Privacy Policy.
    • Complies with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned/necessary.

    Qualified candidates for this role will possess Registered Pharmacist License in Kansas and three years substantially similar work experience as a Pharmacist and a clean background check.  Other key qualifications include:

    • Proven track record in effectively planning, organizing and attention to detail
    • Ability to maintain a positive, courteous demeanor with all patients and colleagues 
    • Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email (Outlook or Gmail) 
    • Demonstrates understanding of and experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) systems
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively use general office equipment including phones, fax machines, copiers and other similar office technology on a regular basis 
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of all internal and external communications to speak, read, write and understand English
    • Ability to pass a background check 
    • Understanding of and ability to comply with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook
