BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Sr Staff Geologist, Rockies Business Unit, will be required to perform complex technical duties related to the identification and development of new value-added opportunities for drilling inventory growth. The candidate will be responsible for the addition of future reserves in the Rockies region via exploration and appraisal efforts, including but not limited to the generation of new play concepts, integrated reservoir characterizations, appraisal planning, and data acquisition proposals. They will also provide recommendations on acquisitions, joint venture opportunities, and application of innovative technologies such as EOR. This person will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, utilizing their knowledge of the subsurface and reservoirs to advise on full life cycle planning, drilling, and completions efforts in order to help improve the economics of Devon’s inventory and existing base. The candidate should desire to work in a collaborative multi-functional team setting that prioritizes a “One Team” approach to problem solving. This includes a continuous improvement mindset, willingness to challenge the status quo, and ability to demonstrate integrated subsurface performance through actions and feedback.
