Petroleum Geologist studies and examines variations in rock formations and mineral samples to identify new gas and oil deposits. Analyzes the integrity of wells to determine feasibility of drilling. Being a Petroleum Geologist estimates depth, quality and vastness of deposits. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Petroleum Geologist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Petroleum Geologist works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. To be a Petroleum Geologist typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Job Duties & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Civil, or another related field.
    • 1-5 years’ experience working on site investigation, remediation, and groundwater sampling.
    • Experience with Phase I ESAs.
    • Site and Remedial Investigations.
    • Experience with groundwater investigations.
    • Possess strong knowledge of NYSDEP Regulations.
    • Ability to write proposals and adhere to budgets.
    • Excellent written and communication skills.
