North Oaks Communities, a premier Senior Living Continuing Care Retirement Community is seeking a hospitality driven Medical Records/Billing Clerk to join our health care team. Part time flexible hours - 24 hours/week!
General Summary: Responsible for the daily maintenance of active and discharged charts. Ensures that medical billing is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
Essential Duties:
1. Maintain active and discharged charts per state regulatory guidelines; thin charts according to standards and practices; send charting request per Polaris O-Cap audits; and present admission charts.
2. Maintain Medical Records and routinely inspect for accuracy, timeliness and completeness.
3. Prepare resident billing for Assisted Living and Comprehensive Care; maintain Orbits billing system; oxygen billing services; bill allocation; verify billing for Administrator; transmit billing on a basis as determined by DON; and verify charges from supply.
4. Order, stock, and maintain levels of supplies and keep supply rooms organized and tidy.
5. Track resident usage of supplies.
6. Update daily census.
7. Assist with other health center duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Minimum of 1 year clerical experience; Demonstrated computer skills, including send/receive emails, familiarity with Word and/or Excel; Familiarity with ICD-10 Coding and medical terminology; Some experience in a LTC setting is preferred; Ability to multi-task and prioritize; Ability to work under pressure and make independent logical decisions; Excellent communication and organizational skills; Ability to work as a team player; GNA Certification with Maryland Board of Nursing a plus! Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Seventy-five percent of the workday is spent sitting, standing intermittently, and bending. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
