Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners repairs percussion instruments, such as drums, cymbals, and xylophones. Removes drum tension rod screws and rods by hand or using drum key. Being a Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Freedom Preparatory Academy, an established, dynamic charter school in Provo is currently seeking a part-time Percussion Instructor for our Secondary Campus beginning Fall 2024. Responsibilities include teaching different levels of percussion technique, helping students prepare for concerts and helping the band director with percussion needs. No degree is necessary, however collegiate experience is expected. 5-10 hours /week @ $20/hr.
