Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners repairs percussion instruments, such as drums, cymbals, and xylophones. Removes drum tension rod screws and rods by hand or using drum key. Being a Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To assist with rehearsal and concert logistics for all percussion for the ensembles at St. Olaf.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Percussion Student Manager with coordinating student crews for on-campus dress rehearsals and performances
Assist Percussion Student Manager with coordinating student crews for off-campus dress rehearsals and performances
Arrive on-campus early to prepare percussion for the year
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Strong leadership skills, including positivity, flexibility, and problem solving, respect for student colleagues, faculty, and staff
Knowledge of band stage configurations
Knowledge of band equipment and instruments
Knowledge of scheduling practices for truck transfers, stage set-ups and tear-downs, rehearsals, and performances
Knowledge of student crew organization
Must commit to one year position regardless of ensemble placement
Preference given to rising sophomores and juniors who intend to remain in the St. Olaf Orchestra or St. Olaf Band
