Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners jobs in Kentucky

Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners repairs percussion instruments, such as drums, cymbals, and xylophones. Removes drum tension rod screws and rods by hand or using drum key. Being a Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Instrument Technician

    Starting pay $26.9957/hr. 

    Regular work hours are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday thru Friday.

    Provides engineering-related functions, such as but not limited to:
    • Performs land surveying, construction surveying, construction staking, and drafting work;
    • Operates Total Station, data collector, automatic level, GPS, and other surveying equipment to perform boundary, topographic cross section and other engineering survey field work under the direction of the Chief Surveyor;
    • Must be able to perform layout work for construction of streets, storm sewers, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, water lines, recreation and park facilities, driveway cross-overs, etc.;
    • Establishes and checks vertical control of existing utilities and other facilities;
    • Sets benchmarks and checks profiles for proper grade;
    • Locates property, easement and right-of-ways;
    • Computes traverse and topographic notes;
    • Calculates coordinates and elevations necessary to stake construction projects, and establishes horizontal control for close order traverses;
    • Performs layout work for public works construction crews using automatic level, Total Station and/or GPS, and transfers field data to the computer;
    • Reduces field data and develops topographic maps, sketches, charts, and contract drawings for various construction sites;
    • Operates blueprint machine,
    • Measures and sketches to scale structures under appraisement.
    QUALIFICATIONS (Required at time of application):
    • High School Diploma or GED, and
    • Minimum 5 years work-related experience
    • Valid driver's license
