Pediatric Psychiatrist jobs in Salinas, CA

Pediatric Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents, and their families. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, determines the appropriate course of treatment, and discusses these treatment plans with the child or adolescent and the responsible adults. Being a Pediatric Psychiatrist prescribes medication when necessary. May need to act as an advocate for the best interests of the patient. Additionally, Pediatric Psychiatrist requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director.     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations which include an evaluation of emotional, behavioral, and mental status, current psychiatric symptoms, and functioning, as well as psychiatric and other relevant health histories.
    • Develop treatment plans based on evidence-based standards of care and practice guidelines.
    • Analyze medical tests and track patients' progress to improve outcomes.
    • Provide timely and accurate charting of clinical encounters through our Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
    • Accurately code clinical encounters with CPT and diagnosis codes.
