Pediatric Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents, and their families. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, determines the appropriate course of treatment, and discusses these treatment plans with the child or adolescent and the responsible adults. Being a Pediatric Psychiatrist prescribes medication when necessary. May need to act as an advocate for the best interests of the patient. Additionally, Pediatric Psychiatrist requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Responsibilities:
- Perform dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Diagnose and treat oral diseases and conditions
- Develop treatment plans for patients based on their oral health needs
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress during and after treatment
- Collaborate with dental assistants and hygienists to provide comprehensive dental care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a dentist
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus, general dentistry is required
- Proficiency in medical coding for accurate billing and insurance claims
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Familiarity with dental systems such as Eaglesoft, CAD/CAM systems, and medical imaging software (e.g., Epic)
- Strong understanding of dental anatomy and oral health conditions
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and staff
- Attention to detail for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Strong manual dexterity for performing precise dental procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
