Pediatric Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents, and their families. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, determines the appropriate course of treatment, and discusses these treatment plans with the child or adolescent and the responsible adults. Being a Pediatric Psychiatrist prescribes medication when necessary. May need to act as an advocate for the best interests of the patient. Additionally, Pediatric Psychiatrist requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director.     Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to join our team in Roswell, New Mexico. The successful candidate will provide psychiatric services to patients on an inpatient basis and will have the opportunity to work with an experienced nursing staff and social workers. 
     
    Roles and Responsibilities: 

    • Perform assessment and evaluation of patients
    • Diagnose and treat mental health disorders
    • Develop individualized treatment plans
    • Monitor patient progress
    • Provide crisis intervention
    • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings
    • Provide education and support to patients and their families
     
    Qualifications: 

    • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
    • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of New Mexico
    • Board Certification in Psychiatry
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
     
    Experience and Skills: 

    • Previous experience in psychiatry
    • Knowledge of psychological assessment methods
    • Knowledge of psychopharmacology
    • Knowledge of psychotherapeutic treatments
    • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
