Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations. Ensures accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company deductions. Being a Payroll Supervisor prepares statistical reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses; vacation, sick, disability and workers compensation leave; taxes, withholding, etc. Oversees the distribution of paychecks and direct deposit programs. Provides training to team on policies, regulations, and processes. Additionally, Payroll Supervisor assists team members with resolving errors or responding to inquiries. May be the first level escalation for complaints or complex error resolution. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Payroll Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Pay:
This is an exempt/salary position. The pay range is $50,000 - $70,000. Pay may vary depending on your location, skills, and experience.
Location/Travel Requirements: This position is located in our Rapid City, South Dakota corporate office.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for computing, classifying and recording financial transactions to ensure the financial records of the organization are accurate. The accountant also performs routine financial calculations and general ledger duties. This position will provide support to the Controller with the monthly close process, accounting and analysis for contracts and job costs, and accounting research. This position must perform all of this work while abiding by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
