Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations. Ensures accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company deductions. Being a Payroll Supervisor prepares statistical reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses; vacation, sick, disability and workers compensation leave; taxes, withholding, etc. Oversees the distribution of paychecks and direct deposit programs. Provides training to team on policies, regulations, and processes. Additionally, Payroll Supervisor assists team members with resolving errors or responding to inquiries. May be the first level escalation for complaints or complex error resolution. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Payroll Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. King David is looking for an efficient Payroll specialist to join our team. The idea candidate would be someone who is detail oriented and has a background in accounting or prior experience working with payroll systems.
Essential Job Duties:
· Review, research and edit data from weekly time sheet entries.
· Contact various department supervisors for any missing time, questions on time entries, and union team member inquiries.
· Check validate and ensures time sheet accuracy.
· Process weekly payroll direct deposit.
· Enter, verify, and upload 401k amounts.
· Performs employment verifications as requested.
· Performs filing and scanning.
· Uses computer and various software programs to input, maintain, research and retrieve information.
· Prepares and execute payroll cash actions and bank file uploads.
· Participates in changes to the Payroll computer system by assisting the Payroll Manager with testing and rule/validation table changes.
· Provides support to department staff regarding Union payroll and related processes.
· Tracks and maintains spreadsheet and written documentation regarding disability and related payments.
· Provides back up to payroll department team members as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned. Participates in system upgrades, improvements and other projects.
