Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Opportunity Bank of Montana is adding to our outstanding team with a Payroll Specialist. The successful candidate will maintain confidentiality, have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, and be proficient in computer use including the Microsoft Office Suite and paperless workflow. As our Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for administering all payroll functions and assisting with benefit inquiries in addition to assisting with other Human Resource functions:
Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Education and Experience Preferences
2 years of college coursework (accounting, human resources or related) & 1-year experience in
accounting, human resources or related field - or equivalent combination of education & experience
Experience in administering and processing payroll
and electronic timekeeping software
Knowledge of Federal and State payroll laws and
payroll best practices
