Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system. Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy. Being a Payroll Administrator maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions. Prepares required tax filings and other reporting. Additionally, Payroll Administrator may coordinate payroll processing with an outside service provider. Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting. Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Payroll Administrator work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Position Summary :
As a member of the College of Engineering’s Business Office, the Graduate Payroll Administrator will focus primarily on business operations affecting the College’s Graduate Program.
Responsibilities will include forecasting graduate payroll, processing tuition waivers and GTRIP returns, processing monthly graduate payroll, and submitting and processing salary changes or other salary functions.
This position will work closely with other members of the College outside of the Business Office including faculty supervisors, members from the College’s Human Resources team, and staff from the College’s Office of Academic Affairs and Assessment.
This is an hourly position with potential room for growth in the future. This position will utilize discretion for financial matters.
