Summary Heartland continues to build a best-in-class Revenue Marketing function. We’re conducting a search for a resourceful and creative person responsible for delivering growth through paid media lead generation. This Digital Ads Specialist is responsible to drive new small business acquisitions directly through paid media direct response methods. The candidate will possess skills and experience with strong emphasis on lead generation and pipeline creation, along with prospect remarketing, lead prioritization and reporting used to refine marketing programs. The ideal candidate’s disposition is results-driven but with a focus on enriching team culture to improve marketing performance. What will you be doing? The Digital Ads Specialist works across teams and wears many hats. Above all, the ideal candidate is a quick learner with a passion for doing good and a willingness to geek out over ad metrics, new tactics, and using paid media to generate revenue growth. Ability to independently project manage the successful execution and launch of a paid media campaign, including the development of advertising media plans that outline budget allocation, platform utilization, targeted audiences, and other variables necessary for launching digital campaigns Knowledge of media planning tools to forecast digital inventory availability and pricing Contributing to campaign strategy development to help drive decisions to meet client goals Trafficking and QA of digital ads across multiple platforms Set up and QA of necessary ad tracking for the purposes of reporting Consistent optimizations, in partnership with analysts, to help improve the performance of campaigns Built and maintained automated ad reports to surface strategic insights for teams across different departments Ability to be a real systems thinker who can comfortably hop between platforms Ability to solve new problems and find answers to questions independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent project management & organization skills Excellent reporting and analytical skills Ability to multitask and manage time effectively against multiple (and sometimes competing) deadlines Manage agency relationships to assist with media buying and choose what campaigns and/or channels to perform in-house or outsource. Manage relationships with platform representatives and partners Write and consistently enhance ad copy, landing page messaging, and other copy for optimal conversion. Run tests and experiments for conversion rate optimization with copy and creative. Actively monitor costs and analyze the health of marketing contribution to sales pipeline, program ROI, and customer acquisition. Identify opportunities and execute methods to optimize the use of various technologies, such as personalization, audience segmentation and scoring. Perform competitive research and other media-related tasks as needed. Keep up to date with industry best practices and strategies. Create a standard of excellence in process and support and when working with internal Marketing and Sales stakeholders. What are the requirements? Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3- 5 years experience in digital advertising and paid media. Small business technology or Fintech experience is a plus. Proven experience as a Media Buyer or similar role; experience in digital media is preferred. Possess a command over media buying, research, and planning. Genuine love of data, metrics, and optimizing Ability to take initiative and troubleshoot independently. Ability to adhere to assigned deadlines. Passionate about marketing best practices and emerging channels. Results-driven with a very strong ability to analyze quantitative data to determine program effectiveness and ROI. Must have budget management experience and financial analysis ability. Demonstrated results in hitting lead conversion and revenue targets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of building strong working relationships across all levels of the company, including sales teams. High-energy, creative, team-oriented individual with a passion for building businesses and brands. Thrives in a fast-paced environment with the ability to change and problem-solve. Experience with Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook ads, and DSPs. Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio, VWO, and other analytics tools is highly desirable. Strong systems and data analysis skills. Advise team members with enterprise-level Marketing Automation tools including Eloqua, Pardot, Marketo, Adobe, or similar. Extensive experience with data and audience segmentation including data flows and data architecture.
