Being a Payment Recovery Specialist monitors, evaluates, and reviews all cost reporting in support of claims. Coordinates with departments and insurance companies to correct errors as necessary. Additionally, Payment Recovery Specialist requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Job Description:
The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will work closely with the Fort Smith Police Department Crisis team to provide immediate support to individuals experiencing mental health crisis and substance abuse issues. This role focuses on utilizing lived experience and training to connect individuals to appropriate resources, promote de escalation, and facilitate follow ups.
Responsibilities:
* Provide on scene support in collaboration with law enforcement to assess individuals needs and provide appropriate interventions.
* Use recovery experience to establish rapport with individuals in crisis and their families.
* Connect individuals with community resources including but not limited to substance abuse treatment, mental health services and housing assistance.
*Utilize de escalation techniques to help diffuse situations and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
*Conduct follow up calls with individuals and their families post crisis to provide ongoing support and assist them in navigating multiple systems
*Maintain accurate documentation of individuals encountered
* Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to maintain Peer Support Specialist certification and further professional development
* Schedule consists of four shifts per week, ten hours per day.
*Adhere to all policies and procedures of The Guidance Center and the Fort Smith Police Department.
