Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator jobs in North Carolina
Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator operates a mechanical machine to lay gravel, stone, and cold-mix asphalt on road surfaces. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of heavy machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.Duties:
- Operate and maintain various types of heavy equipment including but not limited to loaders, backhoes, pavers and skid steers
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Grading sites - reading grade stakes, blue prints, site plans etc.
- Supervise other workers on the job - asphalt laborersSkills:
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.-
- Expertise to dig into tight spotsJob Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to Relocate:
- Garner, NC 27529: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
